Surnames
What I think is sad is that surnames were invented so long ago. Because there are many surnames that are jobs - Baker, Butcher, Farmer, etc and, really, when the person who invented surnames decided to do so there weren’t really all that many interesting jobs. If he had just waited until the late twentieth century then think of all the really cool surnames that could be being bandied about. Peter Analyst, Mary Obstetrician, John Cameraman, Brian Orthodontist, Sally Technical Advisor, Steven Unemployed, etc.
