A Late Night Phone Call

I was reading in bed late last night (the latest issue of Cleo) when the phone rang. I picked it up. 'Get out!' a strange, evil voice whispered and then hung up. 'How peculiar,' I thought. The phone rang again. 'Get out now!' came the whispered command once more. And then another hang-up. 'Huh!' I thought. The phone rang again 'There's somebody in the house,' said the whispered voice of evil. 'Well, of course there's someone in the house,' I said. 'Who do you think's been answering the phone!' Sheesh. And he wanted me to get out. Psychopaths today. No common sense. Coincidentally, a couple of minutes later as I was heading to the fridge for a Paddle Pop I was attacked by another psychopath dressed in a clown suit, with an enormous butcher knife. Quite the eerie coincidence I felt.
