When I was in school, I remember that there was this one kid who just couldn't spell. No matter how simple the word you gave him, he would spell it wrong, often using letters that weren't even close. And a lot of the time, he couldn't even say the words right. He'd just babble nonsense syllables. It was kind of sad the way we used to make fun of him. At the time, a lot of the teachers thought he was dyslexic, but looking back, it seems highly likely that, for some reason, he was simply speaking French.
