It is May, 1942 and Bob Kane has concocted a plan that will revolutionise the world of comic books. He has decided to team his highly popular crimefighter Batman with a partner. But not just any partner. It is Bob's plan to raise the standing of comic books by introducing the young readers to giants of the world of high art. To this end, he has decided to partner the caped crusader with the world-famous sculptor, Auguste Rodin (creator of 'The Thinker' among others). Now, finally, children can enjoy the worlds of both sculpture and crimefighting while dressed as a flying rodent. In the one story. Comic books will soon become a vaunted medium attracting the best and brightest. And it will all start with 'Batman and Rodin'. Unfortunately, a fatal transcription error occurs and, instead of rising to undreamt-of heights, comic books spiral downwards into the worlds of illiteracy, high camp and bizarre Asian drug cartels. Astonishing how a medium can be so adversely affected by one dyslexic letterer - but, then, that's elementary chaos theory for you.
