Rolling Stones
I must confess to having limited sympathy for Mr Michael Jagger when he complains (as he so riffingly does) that he 'can't get no satisfaction'. Putting aside the inevitable double negative for one moment, let's look more closely at Mick's problems.
Mick complains that when he's driving in his car men come on the radio, telling him 'useless information'. He also gets upset because when he watches TV a man tries to tell him how white his shirts can be but Mick doesn't agree with the spruiker's detergent recommendation because because of said spruiker's choice of cigarette brand (?!?). Mick's reasoning is all over the place here.
Besides, Mick's over-reliance on the mass media for entertainment and his subsequent dissatisfaction with the state of the advertising industry and talkback radio are surely just symptoms. The true basis for Mick's unsatisfactory life can clearly be found in the following phrase: 'cause I try, and I try, and I try, and I try'. Mick, clearly you try too hard. Just relax, buddy. The ladies don't like men who put effort into things. To them, it reeks of desperation and body odour. Trust me, Michael. The path to life satisfaction is to simply relax and just do what feels good. Look at Keith - now there's a satisfying life if ever I've seen one.
Begone,
