Rock School
I assume that it comes as no surprise for any of you to hear that I have been watching Rock School, the thrilling new reality TV show starring former KISS frontman Gene Simmons as a hard-rocking teacher trying to form a rock'n'roll band out of a group of classical music-trained youngsters. This should not, of course, be confused with School of Rock, which starred Jack Black as a hard-rocking teacher trying to form a rock'n'roll band out of a group of classical music-trained youngsters. (Did you spot the difference, Gentle Reader?) And nor should it be confused with Rocks? Cool!, which stars Ace Frehley as a hard-rock teacher trying to form a gang of geological rockhounds out of a group of geometrically-trained youngsters.
I digress.
My point is this: On last night's particular episode of Rock School, one of the young girls (whose name effortlessly eludes me - let us call her, say, Mary... or Lil' Bitchface. No, no. Mary) explained in a chat to camera how she was unimpressed with Mr Simmons' fiscally oriented viewpoint.
"Money isn't everything," Mary claimed. And in this there can be little dispute. Money is, in fact, not everything. That's a fundamental inequality, difficult to deny. And if she had ended her argument there, it would have been difficult to counter. But instead Mary attempted to bolster her argument with the following: "What would be the point of having all the money in the world if you had nobody to share it with?" And settled back, smiling serenely and smugly.
To which I immediately started ranting at my television screen - if you share it with somebody, then you no longer have all the money in the world, do you?? Stupid girl. Let's hope Lil' Bitchface lifts her game when Bertrand Russell is exhumed for the new reality show Logic School (again, not to be confused with Jack Black's School of Logic).
Begone,
