Being John Malkovich
I don't understand why John Malkovich failed to win an Oscar for his performance as John Malkovich in the movie Being John Malkovich. Scandalously, he wasn't even nominated! Did the Academy find his performance unconvincing? Did they not 'buy' him in the role? Who can say. I fear very much, however, that a grave travesty has taken place. On the other hand, you don't want to set a precedent. Otherwise you could end up with Marlon Brando being nominated next year for the home video of his nude limbo dancing at Emilio Estevez's Halloween party. And nobody wants that.
