The Lion King
Am I mistaken or was poor old Scar, purported villain of The Lion King, derided as an unsatisfactory monarch simply because shortly after he became king, the savannah began to suffer from a drought!
I can't be the only person who thinks that's wrong, surely? It may be just a cartoon and hit Broadway musical production, but even so... the point must be made clear for impressionable young children: lions do not control weather patterns. Are we expected to believe that Mufasa would have used his James Earl Jones vocal cords to summon storm clouds into existence? Or perhaps we are to assume that Simba returned from exile via a cloud seeding plane??
No, Scar has been brought undone by the baseless superstitions of Nala and the rest of the animal commoners who seem to believe that the presence or otherwise of cumulonimbus clouds in their skyline is directly tied to the personality traits of the leonine figure lazing atop the throne. Sheer madness. I predict that the animal kingdom will remain under the brutal, opposable thumb of mankind until they come to their senses and embrace 1) the rational tenets of modern science and 2) non-animated three-dimensionality.
Begone,
