I saw 27 Dresses the other night. Pretty much as expected. After all, a romantic comedy without a scene where Katherine Heigl pouts sadly? Why, to my way of thinking, that’s no romantic comedy at all.

However, while brainstorming with Gnat, we couldn’t help but wish for something more. Perhaps, given the titular (yes, Beavis, ‘titular’) twenty-seven dresses, the director could have gone for something a little more in the vein of television ratings smash 24.

Example Dialogue: “The following events take place between Dress 12 and Dress 13″

Just a small touch like that would have given the movie a bit of extra zing! Also, why not a scene where Katherine Heigl, in defiance of a direct order from CTU, tortures a suspected terrorist into revealing the location of the stolen nuclear materials (and/or wedding reception) using nothing but barbed wire, testicle electrodes and a judiciously used fire axe?

Or would that stray too far from the formula?
