Lucky Conjecture Disproved

Filed: Friday, January 12, 2001
Researchers at Los Alamos have finally disproved Euler's Lucky Seven Conjecture, ending centuries of debate. Through sophisticated analysis and ring theory, it has been determined that 7 is not a lucky number and that, in fact, the only number with any level of luck significantly more than average is 3608.
Theologians have taken the news in their stride and having checked some of the more difficult details of the proof have vowed to increase the number of deadly sins by 3601 "as soon as is practical". A sample of the new sins under consideration include extreme body odour, rubbing a turtle against your thighs and karaoke.
