The Mission To Mars
We have managed to get our hands on NASA's top secret report on what really went wrong with the Mars lander last year. Thousands of tiny frogs, apparently. Clogging up the wires, throwing the rotation out of balance with their random hopping about. NASA officials confirm that everybody feels 'awful' about what has happened and that nobody will lose their jobs, 'with the possible exception of Bobo The Frog Boy'.
The official report claims that, in retrospect, it was 'extremely foolish' to allow Bobo to keep his frogs there while his apartment was being fumigated. And somebody 'really should have checked' to ensure that he removed them before liftoff. There are whispers, however, that there is some concern among NASA hierarchy about the report, some drawing attention to the fact that it was written by Bobo's long-time enemy Melanie The Rat Girl. NASA hiring policies are now believed to be under stringent investigation.
Of course, this report makes no mention of the fact that there have already been numerous successful missions to Mars, or that a small colony of brave pioneers has already been established. And it certainly doesn't disclose the fact that Hootie and the Blowfish will be touring there in September.
