Skywriting - Why It Is Stupid
I was on the bus this morning and I noticed some skywriting going on.
Now who in this day and age still considers skywriting a viable form of advertising!!!! The concept has many flaws:
- The average person is not going to stare directly into the sun for the better part of 10 minutes trying to work out what the sky writer is (usually unsuccessfully) trying to write.
- Even if the person does have the time to stare at the sun for 10 minutes the chances of it inspiring them to go and buy whatever you're polluting the sky with is minimal.
- Unless your company has 4 letters or less as its name you're really only advertising the syllables of your company name and that only vaguely.
The only companies that should be able to use smoke writing as advertising should be cigarette companies because, you know, they already sell smoke.
But then, imagine the poor bloody skywriter trying to get the surgeons general warning at the end.
Ah well,
