3.22 The Dawson’s Creek Players Do ‘Prom Night’
Well, it’s Prom Nightat Dawson this week. I missed the firstbit because I was out and mystupid VCR didn’t record(primarily because I forgot to put thetape in) but it’s all very easy topiece together.
Gay Jack, breakinggay barriers in his own inimitablefashion decided to invite hisJust Good Gay Friend to theprom, but the school board,sorely missing the Cool Black Principaland his easy-going ‘tude, banned such anotion, possibly because they fearedthat they (Gay Jack and JGGF) wouldperform lewd, anal sex inspiredinterpretations of We Are Family onthe dance floor (as I said, I missedthis bit, so this may not beaccurate.)
Kid Flash decided toset up a prom that gay people wereallowed to attend. He also stretchedthe rules to allow theincredibly cute, the completelycrazy, the rodent-like and thepenis-less to attend also.Foolishly, he also left a loophole thatallowed Paceman to attend provided heknew the lyrics to Kenny Loggins’Footloose. Paceman knew andside-shoed his way into the prom,escorting Crazy Andy. (Kid Flash hadmade sure that he had Ah Joey by buyingher services with some earrings hestole from his mother (again,not exactly sure this is right,but I’m sure it’s close).)
… she started to cry andwithdrew her vagueprick-teasing offer.
So we’re at the prom,Gay Jack is suddenly behavingnot properly gay at all and isembarrassed about bringing his JGGF tothe prom. He puts him in the corner andinsists he wears a very butch MarlonBrando mask. Meanwhile, theChipmunks are squabblingagain. Apparently, GirlChipmunk had been teasing Boy Chipmunkabout the prospect of sex after theprom but he wanted to go to footy campinstead and so she started to cry andwithdrew her vagueprick-teasing offer.
Kid Flash is dancingwith Ah Joey, pulling faces at ThePaceman and going ‘I have AhJoey. I have Ah Joey’ in a sing-songvoice. Kid Flash heads off fora quick game of Whist with Gay Jack’sJGGF (because he thinks he’s thereal Marlon Brando)and Paceman and Ah Joey take theopportunity to have a dance of theirown. Wisely, they choose thelambada. Kid Flash comes back,sees them and has one of his mentalfreak-out attacks. Crazy Andy starts tocry, so no surprisesthere.
So, a bit moresquabbling. Not Properly GayJack refuses to kiss his JGGF.Ah Joey says she can’t choose betweenthe penis-less Dawson and the uprightyoung citizen that is Paceman. She’snot so bright, Ah Joey. Cute,but not bright. Chipmunks vownever to speak to one another again.And that’s about it. Except… Flashand Mrs Flash have decided to getmarried again! So that’s veryexciting.
A pretty goodepisode, from what I could gather. Igive it a B plus and look verymuch forward to…
Next Week: The Season Finale!! Inviteyour friends around for the finalDawson’s File of the year. Mr and MrsFlash get married (here’shoping Flasheroo dons the red lightningsuit for old time’s sake), NotProperly Gay Jack becomes properly gayand slips the tongue to his JGGF.Paceman and Kid Flash fight tothe death with flick-knives,while Ah Joey and Crazy Andy don skimasks and beat up thechipmunks. Don’t miss it.
