Thinking

Dear Dr Dan,
I met someone but he lives 3000 miles away. I can't stop thinking about him. What should I do??
-- Far, Far Away

Dear Far, Far Away,
Firstly, determine how much you want to be thinking about him. 100% of the time seems too much. Perhaps 4% of the time would be appropriate. That's about an hour a day. Next, vary your distance from him. Move 4000 miles away. Measure how much you think about him. Move 2000 miles away and measure again. And so forth. Plot your results on an Excel spreadsheet and interpolate the results to find the precise distance you need to be to think about him in your desired daily ratio. Then simply move to that point and live happily ever after. Hope that simplifies things.
