Sturgeon Be Damned 2000
Sturgeon’s Law states that 90% of everything is crap. Frankly, I think on this site I’m running a lot higher than that, probably 95% plus.
But, heck, that means in any given year, there’s stuff that isn’t crap on this site, as difficult to believe as that might be. So, as the noughties draw to a close, let’s look back and sift through for the smattering of good stuff that arose in the year 2000.
In no particular order (other than the very particular chronological), here’s my Ten Best Posts of 2000 AD:
- Dr Dan explains how fast the speed of light is
- My bold prediction for the future
- Kenny Rogers’ Coward of the County is dissected
- Sweet nostalgia…
- Problems with clowns
- Reminiscing about Aunt Elsie
- My plan to shake up the complacent world of geography
- A startling Christmas movie pitch
- The very best thing about the TV show BJ and the Bear
- Things to try when you learn how to fly
That’s the pick of 2000. Next up: Well, it’s 2001, isn’t it?

You KNOW I loves the “Coward of the County” dissection; it’s only made me laugh FIFTY TIMES…
Laugh fifty times or your money back! That’s always been my motto.
